iPod Help

I'm trying to update my ipod but when i plug it into the computer, it will charge but itunes is not recognizing that my i pod is plugged in. any ideas?

iTunes>Preferences>iPod>Enable Disk use.

Is this check on? If so, turn it off and restart iTunes. That help?

If iTunes isn't recognising the iPod then the iPod Preferences won't be displayed.

Do you have your music set to automatically sync with the iPod? Have you tried any of the iPod's 5 Rs of troubleshooting?
