Hi, I am selling my I Mac and erased the hard drive (fusion) instead of reinstalling mojave like I have once before I restarted the computer.

Now I am getting an error message when I’m trying to re install max OS I feel like I have been reading for hours and not getting anywhere. Any help would be appreciated.

When I turn in computer if I don’t cmd and r it come up with a folder and question mark and a link to apple aupport.com

Thanks so much in advance
Madeline

Try this:

Power off.

Press the power on button and IMMEDIATELY hold down:
Command-OPTION-R
(this is "internet" recovery)

You will need your wifi password if you use wifi.
(if you use ethernet it's not needed).

The internet utilities take a while to load, be patient as the globe spins.

After a while, you should see the internet utilities panel.

I suggest you open disk utility first.
IMPORTANT -- if there is a "view" menu (upper left), go to it and choose "show all devices".
(if you can't find a view menu, don't worry about it, but if it's there, you must take the above step).

Now look at the list on the left.
There should be an indication of the "fused" drive.
Click on it, then click erase.

You didn't tell us which iMac or which OS you were using.
If it's High Sierra or earlier, erase to "Mac OS extended with journaling enabled, GUID partition format".
If it's Mojave or later, erase to "APFS with GUID partition format".

When the erase is done, quit disk utility and open the OS installer.

Start clicking through.
The iMac will restart one or more times, and the screen may go dark for a minute or two with no other indication of activity.
Be patient.

When done, you should see the initial startup screen (hello or "choose your language").
At this point, go up to the menu bar and see if you can just quit the setup where it is (without going further).
If there is no "quit" in the menu, just reach around to the back, and hold in the power on button until the iMac goes off.

Now it's ready for the new buyer.

Thank you so much for your reply. I have tried what you said and I could not erase. I have attached the error messages I am getting and also the specifications.
