Help??

I have a imac that is around 6 yrs old. I only use it for the net and updating iphone etc. The problem is the damm thing keeps going to sleep!! It will be on for about 5 mins and then go into standby mode (white light pulsing on the front) I move the mouse and it comes back on. Only 30 seconds later it sleeps again. Basically I cant use the thing now!!

Any ideas as to why it is doing this. I am thinking maybe a faulty piece of hardware but unsure as to what it is?

This may seem too obvious but did you check your energy saver settings?
