Hi!

A pretty odd request but my parents are going to the US and going to visit San Francisco, Los Angeles and Las Vegas.

Of course I was going to take this opportunity to convert them to Mac users (they are interested in MBA 13") and get myself a new MacBook Air 13".

The only thing is that I want both their laptop and mine to have 4GB of RAM.
I want the "base" 13" with 128GB SSD storage but with 4 instead of 2GB of RAM.

Now I was told on another forum that some Apple Retail Stores do carry the 13" MBA (for $1,299) with 4GB of RAM (for an additional $100).

Is this true?
If you guys (and girls) could help me out by simply asking in a Apple Retail Store if you happen to go past one I would really appreciate it.

Also any other tip about getting the 13" MBA "base" with 4GB of RAM?
We can't order online since almost all of the online stores don't ship to hotels.
Also they are in each city only for a few days so it has to arrive exactly in the 2 or 3 days they are in that city.

Buying it in a physical store would be the (best) solution but does Apple Retail Store(s) carry that model with that spec and if so which?
Also which other stores might do that?

Best Regards - TheSwede86

The Apple Store near me only carries the base and the "ultimates", no upgraded base models. I'm not in one of the cities you've mentioned, but the sales folks didn't seem to think that mattered.
