We had a car show here this last weekend (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday). I went over to the show on Friday afternoon and shot a few photos for our friend PowerFullMac.

On Saturday evening, they do a parade down Main Street in my town from 6:30-8:30 with all the cars from the show. I managed to get two of the three DeLoreans, but I kept forgetting to pull the iPhone out. Too many other nice cars driving in front of me. At one point all three of them driving in a row on the other side of the street. Too bad I missed that photo op.

This was one of my favorite cars, besides the DeLoreans (which I also love). It wasn't in the parade though. :(

Wow, thanks for that!!! :)

I have never seen a DeLorean sadly, although I do plan to go to car shows and see some, should be really cool, also I hope to reach my goal of owning a DeLorean in 4 years!

Very commendable. I wish you the best of luck with your goal. I just watched Back to the Future tonight with some friends. Great show!

I had a goal in high school to own a car that no one else in the school owned. My dream was to own a Lamborghini or Ferrari, something exotic. I thought that dream would never come true, until one day my senior year as I was getting into my 1988 Chrysler Conquest TSi. That's when it hit me that no one else in the school owned a car like that. It's a pretty rare car, and I own three of them today (but hey, only one runs, and it doesn't even do that very well). It's nothing exotic by any means, but it's still a pretty fast and fun little sports car. Anyway, put you mind to it and that goal will be a reality for you...in no time even!

BTW, here is the one that is currently running. Enjoy!

Wow Klymr, that's a pretty slick car and best of luck to PowerFullMac.

Thanks. It's not a lot. Engine needs new piston rings I believe. The thing hardly runs once it's started after sitting a while. Every once in a while it blows smoke, but not too often. These photos don't show it, but the paint is in need of a lot of touch-ups. Anyway, it's like a child to me, but I'm ready to kick it out of the house. ;) These cars aren't know for being reliable.

Oh, and this is a 1989 Chrysler Conquest TSi, in case anyone was wondering.

Everyone has a phase where they want to hop into a DeLorean and travel through time. Then you get into a real DeLorean for the first time and realize that even if time travel were possible, you'd never reach the 88 mph required in a DeLorean. :p

And to be honest, if you need 1.21 Gigawatts of plutonium power to reach 88 mph, you need to consider a more energy efficient car. That's worse than most SUVs.

Ha! They really aren't that bad of a car. I believe the original speedometer ran up to 140, but the US government made them replace them with speedo's that only read 95 (or maybe it was only 85). They do have a 6 cyl. engine, and don't weigh that much either. There are a lot of myths about DMC12s.

The biggest of which was that they had trouble starting. I read somewhere where they actually started up quite dependably.

Awesome pictures!

Yeah, that was because of that scene in Back To The Future I think (if you have seen it you will know the one I mean).

They don't weigh very much either, about as much as a Mazda RX-7 (3rd gen. I think). The doors actually take LESS space to open than a lot of people think. You can park about a foot away from another vehicle and still open the door with ease. It's actually easier to get in and out of the vehicle.

The top speed is actually between 130-140. It wasn't the fastest accelerating vehicle, but it wasn't terrible. The parts are also not too expensive either. I hear that they are about average for a normal car.

Yup, the doors need less space than a normal car door (good video, too).

The price is about £15,000 which is not bad.

No, its not bad at all, dont forget we are talking about a 30 year old car here, and most will still get that speed, some even more thanks to mods.
