Wow, looks cool. It really isn't that complicated if you think about it... It just has to be a chip that can run RedSn0w or blackra1n... But I doubt he's got the Windows libraries on there. There isn't a Linux version of any of these tools, is there?

Maybe he implemented his own exploit... Or maybe he got a go ahead from GeoHotz and got the source to compile on his IC.

That would be my only question, where he got the exploit from.

Looks a bit large for a dongle. Would like to see on which is embedded directly into the case and connects into the dock (which offers a pass thru) and uses a calculator battery. Not sure if this is even possible due to the voltage a calculator battery provides but would be more accepted.

Here’s the serial debug output from the evaluation board. For technical details, it’s exploiting the iBoot USB exploit found in firmware 3.1.2 and below, and then jailbreak/boot the tethered device as Blackra1n does.

As for it being large, that's mostly because of the battery size. He's making them all by hand too, so they can't be too small. I'm sure it'd be possible to use a smaller custom battery and pcb if he had the proper equipment. Not bad though. Not something you'd keep in your pocket, but you could leave it in your car or put it in a backpack just in case.

But on the serious side, it looks excellent and will really help a lot of people if he gets it into production.

i could not open either link (forbidden). so i searched for more info since this sounds like a real lifesaver. i found a link with a youtube video in it. they called it the "idongle" is this the same thing you guys were talking about?
