Hey guys,

Here's a 1441x1200 of that spiffy Hoyvika Beach wallpaper seen on the new 12" MacBook.

For those of you with MacBook Airs and pre-retina Pros, take it and go. As for the rest of us, I'm hoping someone out there with Photoshop skill can make it look nice on our Retina displays. Of course nothing can replace the original at full res, but this is the best we've got, and I know a lot of you are dying for this wallpaper.

Here's the link to the 1441x1200 one: https://www.dropbox.com/s/a72qqne12n3xs76/Hoyvika Beach by Stian Klo.jpg?dl=0

Anyone with photoshop knowledge can increase the resolution, but the quality would not improve in any way.

There's no way to add pixels that simply aren't there.

Aside from the obvious (that you can't simply "increase the quality"), someone with skill in Photoshop, can do a convincing job.

Sample case: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1747319/

Doesn't look half bad. I PM'd the guy who did those, but who knows if he's even still a regular user.

I mean I can make the image larger. That's not what I'm asking for, here.

An upscale and sharpen is all I can think of, but afterward it still looks visibly upscaled. The fact that it's JPEG quality doesn't help.

I'm not sure if it's placebo effect, but I think it looks a tad better, and I'm happy with it as my desktop background.

Thanks again!

Thanks a bunch! I would really love the original version tho (ANYONE HAS IT!? DAMN APPLE FOR NOT GIVING US!) I'm guessing this is a photoshopped/upscaled version? Either way looks good!

what do you mean "original?" you want the RAW file? good luck w/ that. ask the original photographer maybe. to my knowledge this is the highest resolution this image has ever been available in. more than enough for your macbook.
