I got my MacBook in May 2007 and I'm sticking true to it until May 2011
Anyone else feel the same way?

If you can ignore all the marketing hype and the pressure of peers who will encourage you to buy the latest and greatest, I think you'll find that these newer dual-core computers will demonstrate impressive longevity. Barring an unforeseen circumstance, I can't see upgrading my iMac for at least three years. And realistically, it's probably going to viable for twice that long.
So just ignore the marketing and get to work. Your Mac will reward you for it.![]()
How long CAN a Apple computer last???
The oldest, working Mac I've seen was an Apple II.
My former Biology teacher used an original Apple II in the classroom.

I am typically hard-pressed to stick with a laptop for ONE year...I can't image FOUR!maestro55 said:Laptops should last 4-6 years, though I can certainly understand those with the funds who need the upgrades who get a new one every 2-4 years. I am sure even if after 3 or 4 years I put the cash down on a new Mac portable or upgrade to the MBP I am going to keep the MacBook that I will be getting today and I probably will find some use for it. I think I am going to put my Thinkpad on full time folding@home duty after today and of course my dedicated Linux box.
