Does anyone know how the length of the Hermes Single Tour strap (for a 42mm watch) compares to the Apple Classic Buckle strap? Apple's website says that the Hermes strap fits 165-195mm (which looks to have 7 holes) v. 150-215 for the Apple band (which has 11 holes). I'm trying to figure out whether the straps are same length. Many thanks.

CB about 21,6 cm vs Hermès 21,2 cm. Does this help ?

Thanks a million! Just took a look at the Hermes watch/that strap at the local Hermes store, and if they had the watch with the Single Tour strap in stock, I may have purchased it. It's a beautiful strap, and I prefer the contrasting stitching, but to pay a full $600 more for the watch (compared to the regular SS AW with the saddle brown CB strap) was just too much. They had a bunch of Single Tour straps in stock: the tan, blue, and black. If the Hermes strap had been significantly shorter, I may have been swayed to return the AW and wait for them to get new stock.

With the $600 bucks you keep in your pocket you can buy 4 different color Apple Classic Buckle bands but ....if you get a Hermès get it with deployment buckle. You won't regret the extra 200.

See...i am different...the Hermes band is beautiful...huge fan of it. But the Hermes watch faces are pretty darn nice IMHO...classic and unique and fits the square face well.

IF i had to do it over, then i would get Hermes Series 2. Unfortunately, my wrist is too small for Hermes 42 watch band unless they can puncture extra holes.

True that. If I get anything, it will be a midnight blue CB. As for the deployant, it does save a lot of wear because the Hermes band has two keepers, and its the folding of the band to get it through the first one that adds wear to the band. There's only one keeper on the CB but it's thick enough that two aren't needed, so you don't have the same issue.

I agree that the Hermes faces are the best analog faces available for the Apple watch. I've said it several times on these forums, it's a shame that Apple couldn't spend the resources to create a good-looking analog face that looks good on a rectangular watch.

The other issue is that you only get one complication on the Hermes face (other than moon phase): date, worldtime, or stopwatch. I use the modular face, and have the items that I use all the time as complications: timer, alarm, day/date, weather and Omnifocus. Being able to get to them directly from the watch face is great. I know that the dock in WatchOS3 makes it quicker to get to the most-used apps, but being able to just tap is nice.

So the problem I had with getting the Hermes AW is that I wouldn't be using the Hermes face much, which meant spending $600 for the strap and the Hermes Sports Strap (which didn't include the S/M size that I prefer over the M/L size, even though both fit me). And $600 is pretty much the price of the next AW...

Classic buckle band also has thicker padding which makes it "mold" to your wrist very well; thus not needing two retainer. Not sure about Hermes, but Classic Buckle's buckle itself is rounded (no sharp edge) which decreases stress on the leather band when folding it.

Very true with lack of complication with Hermes watch face...but that is the point with Hermes! Simple elegance. DOCK is great...but don't forget, with WatchOS3, you can swipe b/w watch faces very fast.

For me, i will gladly give up complications with the face. :)

What store was this? I'm looking for the black single tour and the SF Hermes is all out.
