The iPhone guide established that only iphone 7 / 7plus / 8 / 8 plus are capable of using the new HEVC formats for photos and videos.
What about the iPads ? can any of the iPad Pros use this new format ? Could not find any thing in the iPad guide...

As long as the iPad in question is running a variation of the A10 chipset or newer, it will fully support both HEVC/HEIF encoding and decoding.

If the device is running an older processor, it will still be able to receive images/video in the new format. However, it cannot format content in this way on its own.

thanks, so my iPad Pro 9'7 will not be able to benefit from the new format as I was hoping... Too bad.
