Does anyone else not actually find the yellowing of the screen helpful in any way? I have no trouble sleeping right after staring at a bright web page for hours. But I do find the yellow color to be very harsh on my eyes.
At night, I'd rather have a true dark mode, so I just press Cmd+Alt+Ctrl+8 to invert the colors, that does the trick for text based stuff. It would be nice if there would be an option to darken the interface and swap websites into some kind of dark mode, without affecting the color of images and videos.
Also, for anyone working with images or video, your colors will be way off if you forget to turn off color shifting which can seriously mess up your work. Even if you do, your eyes will have adjusted to the yellow, so your vision will be biased towards blue for several minutes. Let's say you're on a website and then you have to color balance an image - you're screwed, because even if you turn f.lux off, your eyes are now messed up for quite a while. I kind of expect my computer to always display consistent colors no matter the time of day, since content you create has to be independent of the environment in which you created it.
