somewhere warm, dark, and cozy
Finally addressed:
  • Emoji search. Hallelujah!

Still unaddressed:
  • Still no iCloud Mail read status auto sync
  • Hidden Album in Photos app still isn't password-protectable
  • Still no Safari favicons in Bookmarks
  • Still unable to see which number/email I receive a FaceTime call on
  • Still unable to see which number/email I receive an iMessage on
  • Still unable to switch from FaceTime Video to Audio while in call
  • Still unable to clear all new notifications all at once (unless there are older ones present alongside new ones)
  • Still unable to search Phone Recents
  • Still unable to customize the two shortcuts at the bottom of the lock screen
  • Still no option to display full URL’s in Safari
  • Still no option to turn off Smart Addresses in Mail
  • Swipe options in Mail app still limited
  • Still unable to see photo metadata in Photos app (format, size, dimensions, etc.). Don’t wanna have to use third party for that.

I remember when copy/paste was introduced to this platform, things are pretty great right now judging from the list. But that’s what a whine list is for I suppose 😋

For me I was hoping we could record a phone conversation and the icing would be to have the audio transcribed into text

There are so many times I’m in a conversation that I would like to hit record knowing a) I can’t write out notes at the moment or as fast and b) there is no way I’m going to remember all the details of the conversation.

I can’t believe we aren’t allowed to do this when every single phone call to a corporation starts off with “this call may be recorded for training...”🙄 can we just get with the times and understand all calls may be recorded so normal people can have some audio notes?

A lot of States (dual consent) do not allow it unless you have the warning.
It would be nice.

Ability to send Messages based on a schedule. Ability to hide/lock Messages. Add spam/robocall filters instead of sending all calls to voicemail if they are not in your address book.

Things I feel are still missing:
1. Proper RAM management
2. Actual multi-tasking
3. Default 3rd party apps
4. Scalable split screen
5. Customize Home screen
6. OS customizing - fonts/icons/etc...
7. Spell / Grammar checker that REALLY works

Still unable to customize the two shortcuts at the bottom of the lock screen
While they’re at this, I’d love to see gesture control brought to home button iPhones, similar to what they did on iPads. This is unlikely though, as I feel they would’ve done it by now if they had plans on adding it.

I just want better social features for apple music. Collaborative playlists and like a DJ mode where you can “airdrop” songs on a playlist

    • Yeah...more info is always better.
  • Traffic alerts for accidents, construction, or road conditions that will impact commute.
    • Well...it does do this, but only if it will affect your route or if there is a faster route.
  • Search while in an active route.
    • "Siri, Starbucks along my route"...works...most of the time... ;)
  • Add stops/multiple destinations when in an active route.
    • Only does one typically..and sometimes starts a whole new route for some reason...definitely need to work on this one.
  • Refresh/update an active route.
    • It's doing this in the background all the time. The best/fastest route is always shown. Don't be fooled by Waze or others that like to re-route and save you 5 seconds 10 times during your commute. It's been proven time and time again, that they really don't or that at a minimum, the difference is negligible (and in some cases, worse!)
  • Music playback controls.
    • Totally...especially now that they are adding cycling route options.

I would like spilt screen but apart from that rather pleased with what IOS 14 has brought. PIP my favourite.

All I really want is for the missing iOS apps to be on the iPad. I’d use all of them all the time and it’s getting annoying that theyre not there. Especially the ones that contain my personal data, like health/fitness and Wallet.

- better iPad external screen support.
- more rich text option in Notes, I want to use colors.
- more default apps options.

I'm going to be creative and say I wish apple would release the messages app for Android because no matter how good the messages app is, I just won't / can't use it for the majority of my communication due to all the groups I'm in using something cross-compatible.

Continuity (Spotify Connect) feature for Apple Music.

For a company that really banks on its ecosystem, Apple sure loves to refuse to do this.

MKBHD just did an interview with Craig Federighi after WWDC. This question was asked for the weather and calculator app. Craig basically said that if they’re going to do it, they want to do it right. Then he went on to say there are plenty of nice alternatives on the App Store. I wouldn’t count on those two getting added. The iPad has been out for how long, and they still can’t come up with a way to do it right? It’s a calculator or weather display for crying out loud.

- RCS support for Messages (as a fallback)
- Multi-user support for iPadOS
- Weather & Calculator app for iPadOS
- Windowed apps for iPadOS (just turn slideover into a fully blown windowed app system already... that‘d be one way to introduce calculator on the iPad by giving us the iPhone one as a windowed app)
- Phone toggle in iCloud settings (to enable / disable call log and voice mail syncing, preferably E2EE... they afaik disabled this due to privacy concerns... sucks cause I love that feature)
- Lock the hidden / recently deleted photos album with Face/Touch-ID
- Push Notifications Web API for Safari
- Allow gaps in the home screen app layout
- Allow widgets to be placed in the middle (e.g. 2x2 taking the middle 2 app columns)
- News app for more regions (I don‘t care about german news yet Apple wont even allow me to use the app to get tech news that I usually read...)
