I wanted to actually go to bed early tonight...

So I can get up at 7 AM and preorder!

But my wife said, "You never go to bed this early, stay up with me and watch tonight's episode of Grey's Anatomy on the DVR."

I tried to go to bed.

You seem to have missed the point: the iPad doesn't work with any mouse. It doesn't even have a pointer, because it's not designed to ever work with any input device other than a finger (or perhaps a stylus, though I would argue it's not designed to work with that, even though some are capable of functioning with it).

As has been said, it's just a display for a computer hidden beneath the desk. It might likely be a Mac, considering the Apple Wireless Keyboard and Magic Mouse, but no telling for certain.
