iPhone Hey Siri not working

iPhone XR. Currently on iOS 12.1.2. Siri isn’t recognizing when I try to use Hey Siri. Been having this issue for awhile. Just now getting to it.

Assume you have checked the settings for Siri and Search and the "Hey Siri" toggle is toggled to "On"? (I know, that's like asking if your PC is plugged in as the first step in a troubleshooting call, but that's the first step for a good reason!)

I was having this problem with the beta versions of 12.1.3.

Had to give up, turn off Siri and reset it.

No problems since, but the day's early.
