Hey Siri on AirPods really unreliable

Hey guys,
Anybody else has this experience that the “hey Siri” command on the new AirPods works really extremely rarely and unreliably? At least when I’m outside and walking it RARELY picks up my command. I would have to speak really very loud, in a way that it would be annoying for people around me. Expected behavior?

I haven’t noticed any issues. I can speak quite quietly and Siri picks up my voice 9 times out of 10

It’s been fairly reliable for me. Granted, she’s a little slow to wake up at times.
