Hey Siri on iPad 2

How the heck do I get "Hey Siri" to activate when a device is not plugged in? I currently have an iPhone 6plus and and iPad Air2 both with Siri activated and neither one will wake when I use "Hey Siri".

Reason important is I want to control Philips Hue lighting.
 
both devices doesn't support hey siri "unplugged" i believe only 6S/Plus and iPad Pro 9.7 onwards does. Your devices will need to be plugged to a power source before Hey Siri works
