Anyone else running into issues using Hey Siri with Airpods 2 in ear and the HomePod picking up the command?

For example : with Airpods 2 in my ears I say "Hey Siri, call my wife"

HomePod says, "the iOS device this Homepod uses for personal requests is not available . . . "

I know that there is prioritization with "Hey Siri" when using multiple iOS devices, but it's almost forcing me to turn off Hey Siri on my HomePod with my Airpods 2 in my ears.

Am I missing a setting?

If my AirPods are paired to me my iPhone and I say Hey Siri, I see the light on the HomePod illuminated but instantly my iPhone answers so it’s like when I say Hey Siri near my iPhone but HomePod listen and the phone turns on but is the HomePod who answers. Actually I can say Hey Siri super close in front of my HomePod and the AirPods are triggered, not the HomePod. Pretty cool actually.

Working as expected to me, in fact, was one of my worries.

[doublepost=1554331098][/doublepost]In my case my HomePod has stopped replying when I have my AirPods2 in my ears. For instance, if I ask the time the white light illuminates but there is no reply either out loud or in my ears. I have the first version AirPods as well and when I wear them the HomePod replies out loud no problem. Siri does hear me, though, because if I tell her to turn on a scene for my lights she does it but just doesn’t give her usual verbal reply. I was messing around with different variables over the weekend and finally called apple. I got escalated to an engineer who works with the HomePod but haven’t heard anything back. I figure either I’m missing something and doing something wrong or it’s a bug they will get to eventually.... couple things, I don’t have hey Siri activated on my phone and I have multiple homepods and they all behave the same.
