Can you use it to answer a phone call please? I can't get it to work :(

Just contacted Apple support and they said it is not possible :(

Sucks.

I know you answered your own question, but that would be a great feature. The problem is, when you go to invoke Siri by saying ‘Hey Siri’, and then the Siri display shows, How would the phone be answered When she’s listening for your command? And by that time, the caller would be sent to voicemail because of the time lapse. It’s just too difficult of a measure to implement when you look at the time measure, as the screen has to alter to hear the command, And then recognize to have the call answered Successfully, assuming Siri understood what you said initially the first time accurately.

Plus, then factor in all the ambient noise around you, it probably Would be too distracting to make it actually work, even though I do think it is possible, Apple probably just wouldn’t choose that route given the other circumstance as I mentioned above.

You could try out the Accessibility Auto Answer feature to see if that would suit your needs.

Let me play devil's advocate here my friend, my Galaxy Note 3 could answer calls just by saying "answer" and that was 2013. I cannot believe Apple can't make this happen today, I mean they can locate an AirPod under a couch cushion for crying out loud. LOL!

Like I mentioned, I think Apple could do it, they choose not to. I think it’s probably a little bit more difficult than what it seems, especially when you start Considering it’s basically software related versus hardware. The sensitivity for the microphones is perfectly fine, it’s how Siri would be invoked to answer the call in a timely fashion Versus saying something like ‘Hey Siri, answer the phone’. There’s got to be more to it to that, especially being the user may want to know who is calling first come where Siri would have to somehow announce that. Do you know what I mean?

Plus, if it was as popular as a feature for an android device back in 2013, then my question be, then why is it not available today? There has to be a reason why it was discontinued and really never sought afterwards.
