Hey, what's your startup time?

Out of curiosity, what's your startup time on your iMac?

I just got my 3.06Ghz aluminum iMac today and it takes 45 seconds to go from me hitting the power button to getting to the desktop, and this seems a bit slow, considering that my old eMac seemed to be able to do that in half the time.

Thoughts?

Its not slow...because of its new features and changes over time the newer os takes longer to load...install the same version of mac os you have on your emac to your imac and it would probably be faster than your emac.

i doubt your eMac would startup in exactly half the time i.e. around 22-23 seconds. how full is its hard drive? how many startup items does it have?

how much stuff have you put on your iMac? installed any apps that have startup processes? is it the blue screen that it seems is longer or is it the grey screen with the spinning thing?

my MBP used to startup in 20s when i first got it and had Tiger installed. now that my hard drive is a bit fuller, have a few startup items including launch daemons and Fusion which starts processes when you login and have Leopard installed it now takes 40-50 seconds.

yup about 40ish seconds also, and this is right out the box. without any additions, this is about the regular start up time

With Leopard my iMac takes about 20-26 seconds from off to being able to load safari.

My August 2007 2.4Ghz iMac took between 10 and 15 seconds to get from pressing the power button to desktop, no startup items.

I think that larger hard drives add to the time as well.

My startup time? I usually hit snooze once or twice... let's say it's about 20 minutes after my alarm first goes off in the morning.
