I recently purchased a 2013 Mac mini. I'm installing a 1Tb HHD. Last night I cloned my mac HHD using ccc. After cloningthe used space on the drives differ by 10Gb. The original drive had 27Gb of used space and the clone drive only had 17Gb of used space. I did a recovery partition as well. Is this normal or should I erase the cloned drive and try it again? I wanted to swap drives before is started adding all my stuff to it. Thanks in advance.

It is normal and you are fine. The clone excludes certain files that do not need to be backed up. Such as swap file, Mobilebackups made by Time Machine, and your sleep image.

I just checked and my CCC clone is just over 8GB smaller than my actual disk space used.

Hey, thanks for the reply. Fry's had the HGST Travelstar 7k1000 on sale for $69 so I thought perfect time to add some more space.
