Hi ppl, just orded my new imac 27 i7
3.4GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
16 gig ram
2TB hardrive
2 GB radeon HD 6970M
Its a little overkill for a plumber but i love my toys lol
Its replacing my 2 year old macbook pro which i loved but when we purchased the ipad thats all we use. Mainly i miss the gaming so with this new beast hopefully it can run games flawless.
Any opinions the best way i can stream movies from the imac to the ps3?

Thanks Pete

Congrats on the order, you are gonna love it :)

I got almost the same setup 11 days ago, bootcamp windows 7 and you got an awesome gaming pc.

There is no such thing as overkill when talking IT / Gadgets :D

sry no input on the streaming quistion.

Congratz on your new purchase. Have you considered running a NAS such as synology or qnap? Great way to backup and share your media

Congrats on the new purchase! You'll definitely love the machine.

For media sharing, I'd try Majestic. I've been using it for about a year and a half now and it's very stable and runs in the background.

Note: This is for videos that I don't want to import into iTunes. I have a ton of AVI, MKV, and FLV that I want to stream to my PS3 / 360 and Majestic does the job wonderfully!

I picked up the new iMac 21.5" and I'm happier than hell.

I snagged a 4 bayMediasonic Pro Box 4 Bay 3.5in Enclosure (150 bucks) in order to move files and drives from and old PC. So far it's running like a dream and is a reasonable solution.

I've been using AirVideo on the iPad and running the server side of it on a Mac Mini. I've not tried streaming to my Xbox so can't help on that end.
