Hi : ) !!! - Syncing is already two hours !!!

Hi,

I have an older iPhone. It is the second version
of iPhone I think. It synced for the last time
four or five months ago. It has been syncing
for the past three hours and it is only in step
1 out of 3 in the 'backing up' process. It is
about two thirds down this way. How much
longer will it need?
