For all non-AppStore apps: Open Finder, Applications. Right click on the app and click Open. You get one more warning - then click Yes and it launches normally from then on.

Another option is to get it from AppStore, though I prefer to link to GitHub.

I know I'm going to feel stupid because the cause/solution will be so simple... but with both the app store and github version I don't see the straight line. All I see is the "<": no "|". What am I doing wrong?

Edit: Weird. Tried to drag the app to the trash can. Told me couldn't because it was still running. Close the dialog box, and there was the "|"... no idea where it came from, but it there now. <shrug>

I use Bartender which performs a similar function, and is also ASi native, I believe.

Since January 21 we are at v.1.9. of Hidden Bar. Btw, you don't need to download it from the MAS, but can get it directly from GitHub.

The release notes suggest that one can reduce the menubar icon width, as is possible with Bartender. But so far I did not yet discover how to get this done. Tips anyone?
