In iOS 5-6 one had the ability to hide apps they didn't need anymore from the Purchases apps list. This feature was removed during the iOS 7 UI overhaul. However I recently noticed something interesting in iOS 9...

This currently only appears when swiping on an app in landscape mode on the Plus. Also it doesn't actually save which apps you have hidden when you leave the page and come back.

Landscape mode on the 6+ also reveals the search feature on the purchased history screen.

I'd say the reason for both of these is because the landscape UI on the Plus is based off the iPad's Ui, I don't really remember hide being available on any iPhones before this but it's been on the iPad since at least iOS 6.
