iPhone Hide/Disable a specific app update?

Is there such an tweak to stop me accidently updating a certain app that I need to keep the current version of?

App Update Hider or something like that. Never used it so I can't speak on its stability or features

Open iFile and go to var/mobile/applications/(whatever app), and delete the iTunes metadata file. Open the app store again, and the update will be gone.

What if you want to update it later? If you ever plan on updating that app again can you just move that file to a safe place and then when you want to update the app, you copy it back? Or is it easier to just delete the app and then install it again?

i delete the metadata file, and for reasons unknown to me, when that specfic app is updated again, it lets me know thru appstore.

Renaming the file works too.
