This is driving me %*(#) crazy.

Used Hide My E-Mail to create an account.

Went back to the site to log in again. "Hide my e-mail" wouldn't come up. Refreshed multiple times -- eventually it did.

But when it did, it wanted to create a NEW mock e-mail address, not re-up the old.

And yes, I can find the actual website under Apple ID, apps that use hide my e-mail and the original generated e-mail. Of course, there seems to be NO WAY to find what password apple used for this mock e-mail login!

If I try to reset the password using the same account, it claims it e-mails the verification code. Yet I never receive it. So mail forwarding seems to be broken.

Any ideas? Trying to get the scoop on an order that hasn't shown up but need to login with the original hide my e-mail to find out.

Are you doing this on your phone or iPad? And you're saying there's no entry under Settings > Passwords for that site?

iPhone. No—nothing under passwords (in the keychain). Strangely, none of the “hide my e-mail” generated usernames using Apple have any obvious passwords saved.

I'd like to help you with this, but I don't have any good suggestions. It works most of the time for me on all my devices, and I've become very dependent on this new functionality. That said, I have experienced what you're describing, and I almost think it has more to do with the website than the Hide My Email function.

One workaround I tried when that happened is to create a Password manual entry for that site, manually add in the Hide My Email as the login and create my own initial password (so that I know what it is). Then at least it's in the keychain even if you change the password to a suggested one later. But it's clunky, yes.

When it displays the menu asking if you want to create a new HME account, does tapping in the login username field change any of the options?

I'm going to test a couple other things to see if I can reproduce the problem by creating a new account for a site I haven't used before. >> Edited: I can't reproduce the problem.

Couple of questions: (1) are you using Safari? (2) does the problem happen after you've cleared the Safari web history and data?

Greatly appreciate your help, and no worries I'm about to give up. I think this must be something unique to the site (Aliexpress, by the way). Apple saved it as "XC com alibaba..." (very long name). I have no idea why. I can't force it to use the same id on the site, although it will offer to create a new one. I think it is just not reading the site as the same site it saved, even though it is. What's weird, though, is that it didn't save the password it generated. My guess at this point is that I may have done this in a private tab and perhaps that is why.

I'll give the item another week to show up and if not I'll just dispute the charge on my credit card.

Thanks again for trying to help!
