Correct. You could always test this out by sending to another email account you have access to (or to a friend), to get familiarized with how it works. If done correctly, they will just see something like
funky_brains5u@icloud.com or whatever silly email address is generated for you.
I'm not exactly a fan of the addresses they come up with. I wish it was just a random string of letters and numbers, but I suppose that would be more likely to hit spam filters.
