Twice in the past couple days I've used Hide My Email addresses to sign up for things, and they don't seem to be working. I get the automated email from Apple saying I created the address -- but then nothing from the actual company. (Today's was a huge shoe company who I'm certain would send me an email immediately.)

There's nothing in my spam folder, and when I go to my iCloud settings I see that the new address is active. And yet nothing comes through. It makes me wonder if I have other emails I should be getting but am not.

One weird wrinkle I discovered: when I go into iCloud's settings on my phone, I see that each Hide My Email address shows how it was created -- via Sign In With Apple, or through Safari, or from Mail. The ones created through Sign In With Apple have a switch to toggle forwarding on and off. The ones created through Safari or Mail do not have this switch. Not sure if that's relevant.

None of my hidden emails are working. I went down the list trying each one and they all bounce with:

The following address failed:

xxxxx@icloud.com:
SMTP error from remote server for GREETING command, host: mx01.mail.icloud.com (17.57.156.24) reason: 550 5.7.1 Mail from IP xxxx was rejected due to listing in Spamhaus SBL.

If I send mail to them using another Apple-based email, they'll work.

None of mine work either. Ironically, that’s why I keep using hide my email … less email to delete.

None of mine work either. Everything I sign up for never works. Anothe half assed effort from Apple.

Yup, I tried using a few months ago, and it would work to sign up for things, but never would I get an email forwarded.

I have the HME addresses showing on some devices and not others. It's like the fake addresses are not propagating through all devices, and I'm not sure if that is why this isn't working, but I don't get messages on some systems that I get on others.

Like if an address isn't on a device, and I check for messages, does that device flag and delete the message where the other device wouldn't?

It just seems so haphazard. Troubling. Not reliable, not working...

Duck Duck Go has that feature though I've heard. Maybe theirs actually works...
