It seems that Hide my Email isnt working after upgrading to Monterey. When I try to turn it on in System Prefrences, there is no checkmark box next to it, and when I click options it says "Not Available - Please try again later." When I try Safari, it just brings up a loading screen for a few seconds then just disappears.

I have the same issue. But this does not seem to be a problem for everyone. I have seen people working normally.
What is your Apple ID region, and have you ever changed regions?

I contacted Apple Support and went through numerous troubleshooting steps, and finally they told me to create a test user (macOS user) and sign in my Apple ID in it, after doing that I was able to use Hide My Email in the test user, then they told me to sign out my Apple ID in the test account then logout the test user. After I log back in to my main user, I was able to get Hide My Email working. Apparently even the Apple Support Specialist doesn't know why that fixes the issue, but it works for me and I believe that worth a try.

what I did was I did a clean reinstall and then applied my time machine backup and then it worked. Not sure if this was already working earlier before the clean install but didn't find out. I do think Apple are again, in a rush to chuck out new software without properly testing it. I mean some of the things are missing text boxes and looks messy.

I just tried this but unfortunately for me it didn't work. The temporary user did have access, but I still do not. I am hoping I can find a way to get it working without a re-install (that's a lot of work for me).

I don't believe the option is supposed to have a toggle on box. You are supposed to tap on Hide My and then create a new email address that you want to use to hide your real address. Once you have created your hide my address, using it in place of your super secret email address will still forward to your secret email. Hide my email has been working for me.

You're correct, it doesn't have a toggle box. But the problem I and other users are encountering is that when you click 'Options' you get the 'Not available' response.

I also had the problem. Until right now. I restarted my iMac M1 once - and now its working fine. The Options come up and also in Safari the Popup now actually generates an address.

So if you have NOT restarted your Mac after the Monterey Update - give it a try.

I had the same error when clicking options. I logged out and logged back it and it showed up when clicking options. I didn't reboot, just logged out. Rebooting didn't do anything. I'd guess if that doesn't work, create a new user on the system and try logging in/out of that and back into your main account.

Can report the same thing, all working now. It gives me the impression that there was a problem with the backend which has been fixed.

Vegas, baby!
I’m having a different issue. I used the feature and while I got the confirmation from iCloud about its creation, I am not getting any emails from the vendor I made it for. I even tried sending myself an email to that hidden address and it never came in. Pretty frustrated now. I guess I will have to call the vendor and have them change to my real email address.
