Hey.

I'm looking for an application or something from Cydia which can hide my IP and change it to an American IP. Like the application HideMyIP for Mac which allows you to change your IP to any country in the world just for the iPhone. ( I'm not looking for an application from the same company, Just something similar ).
Does anyone know such a thing?

Thank you so much ! :)

There is no such thing for the iPhone. The closest would be a VPN or SOCKS proxy. Also, you do know that those "Hide IP Address" things don't really work.

Huh?
Dude, There's websites which work only if you got an American IP. Like websites which refer to Americans only (coupons, surveys and etc... )
and if I use HideMyIP it displays whatever needed like I got a real American IP.
Seriously dude you better check out things yourself before you say things.

All those programs do is relay your data packets. If someone was to run a packet sniffer and look into those packets, they would still see your IP address in them. The only thing that those programs do is act like a VPN and relay your packets with a wrapper, nothing more. In fact, just the other day my PhD accredited professor had our class do a lab on this very stuff. All the results came back with the original IP address within the packet and the relay as a wrapper. Furthermore, those programs or their other end could be looking at all of your internet activity and logging your usage and passwords.

I really don't care how it works. All i need to know if there's something like that for the iPhone?

You are taking this way further than necessary. Most people that want to do this only do it to access a web site that does not allow a foreign IP. For example if you are travelling you cannot access netflex because it rejects non US Ip's. Similarly BBC Iplayer will only allow UK ips to connect to their content. A proxy server is the way most people would use to get around this.

Great so what can i use on my iPhone?

I have a program called
Hide IP - Real Hide IP

I live in Israel. I phone my parents in USA using google voice and the Real IP program. Google voice only works with USA IP addresses. I run the program, load google voice (which now thinks I have a USA ip addrss) , and make a free phone call to any USA phone number (cell phone, home line.. ANY number, as long as it is a USA number). If i do not use REal IP address, i get a message saying google voice only works in USA.

The downside is that it slows it down.

I just recently bought an iPHONE while i was in USA visiting friends and family. The talkatone app is fantastic - it lets me use google voice from my iPhone and make free phone calls to USA phone numbers (as well as receive). i need a Real Hide IP address to make phone calls through google voice now that I am back in israel.

it seems that nobody here has actually found an iphone app that does this!
does ne1 know an iphone all to hide IP address?????

ps- to the idiot who said the Hide Ip address does not work.. ur 100% wrong.

Both users are right... it will work on dumb website that only check where your gateway IP is located but you might find that changes in future.

Buy a VPN like PIA and you have 3 connections to use.

If you put one connection on your router (requires 3rd party FW), everything connected to it counts as 1. I have 2 Asus N66 routers daisy chained and one is configured to US East which feeds my iPads, jb'd ATV2, and anything else that wants to access US content (I'm in Canada).
The other N66 has no VPN configured. Computers on it have the option of running the PIA app to connect on the machine only eg; for downloading.

1 of the 3 can be configurable in the VPN section, iPhone settings; good for public wifi.

HIDEMYASS is by far the best!! very easy to use no messing around with changing this or that just install simple software then you can choose what IP or location you want to your IP address from

HideMyAss Pro VPN Software very simple to install and to get started. Works as expected, good speed, no lost connections. Also use it on my Android, iPhone, iPad, no problems there either.
HideMyAss offers unlimited access to 345 VPN servers in 53 countries with over 40,500 IP Addresses. But very happy with the service of HideMyAss VPN

Ignore the jerks. I use HOTSPOT SHEILD VPN, i have a vpn toggle in auxo to turn in on quickly as well as sbsettings dropdown. It cost 10$ for one year but i PROMISE it will be your beat solution. Its reliable, fast and customer service rocks. I have it for my lappy as well. Since we travle RTW its important for me to have to access my american sites etc. free vpns dont work well. There is free solutions but they SUCK by comparison. Pm me for any questions - i also have a one month free code if you wanna hook up bro

Ps dont use a proxy those are for hackers/gamers + slow ineffective at streaming

That's four words, because I'm an idiot and do not know what I am talking about.

Uhm. No. The subject is "Onion Browser" and was intentionally placed after a semicolon and therefore doesn't include the text before it. I'm pretty sure "Onion" and "Browser" are two words. So next time you decide it's a good idea to open your raunchy pie trap, know what you're saying. (Figuratively typing)
