Hello all,

As you may have/haven't noticed, this new handy feature was added into iOS5 to avoid the annoying moment of reading a full page or a conversation in messages by hiding the keyboard with a swipe down.

Although (I'm sure I'm not alone here), being the big texter I am, have noticed that the feature becomes completely disregarded when you type enough in the compose window, meaning you have to do the whole press 'edit' button to view a conversation again while typing.

Is there a work around for this?
Just curious.

Cheers,
ubelai.

Are you talking about texting or email? An iPad or iPhone?

Makes a difference. On the iPad, there's a key on the keyboard (lower right corner) that will make the keyboard disappear, no matter what app you are in. On the iPhone, it will disappear in text messaging (and "messaging") with the downward swipe. HOWEVER, this does not work in iPhone email. The keyboard stays in place.

i think hes saying that when you type so much that your entire NEW message takes up the window the conversation is in. So i tried it out and its about 9 lines of text. Once you have 9 lines you can't see your conversation anymore, but you also can't pull down the keyboard. so you have to hit edit to see your conversation.

OP i've known about this and so far i haven't found a way around it. I didn't think about using edit though either so thanks for that! :p
