(or for that matter on how hidpi looks in any other mac they happen to be running it at)

What Xcode version you use?

I did this last November on Lion with Xcode from the App Store and upgraded to 10.8, it still works when you delete Xcode too. I assume that the current Xcode version in the App Store will work the same. guide here

Firstly thanks about the tweak secondly do you know how we "small" things generally in OS now seems all too large

Adding custom HiDPI res

Hi, I'm running a 2011 Mac Mini with my Panasonic HDTV (16:9, 1080p native). Since I'm about 3 meters away from it, the HiDPI setting was a must from the very beginning. I'm currently having it set to 960x540(HiDPI), which is recognised by the TV as 1080p, of course. A lot of apps and windows, though, don't display at full, since 960x540 is below the whatever minimum size they were programmed for.

Now I would like to find a way to add a 1280x720(HiDPI) setting, equivalent to a double-pixel version of 2560x1440. At 720p HiDPI most of the applications should display in full. How can I make such custom resolution for my settings? Can something like SwitchResX help? If so, what settings for the new custom resolution should I use?

Thanks in advance! :)

PS non-HiDPI 720p is not an option for this TV, since the texts and interface are blurry under this resolution and are burdensome to focus on for a long time

I'm looking for exactly the same thing, a way to get OS X to give me a HiDPI mode less than 2x my native resolution. My max is 1280x720, but I'd love 1600x900 on my 27" Thunderbolt display. I'll let you know if I find a way/app to do it.

Late bump. Any update on this?
