Im thinking of switching from 2x4k (28 inch) displays in to one 5k2k (40 inch).
Currently I'm thinking bout LG 40WP95C-W.
My main motivations are:
1. bug with flickering screens because of TB4 <-> DP2.0 connection especially when there is a lot of dark views in the screen
2. far edges of my displays are too far for my eyes and I'm not using 1/4 of each
3. my current setup is made from 2 displays and I have this stupid gap in the middle
4. one screen in the middle and second one on side is not comfortable for me
Currently I'm using SwitchResX to force HiDPI resolution of 2800x1575 on each 4k screen.
I've made some calculations which scaled resolutions I would prefer on new 21:9 5k2k with HiDPI:
My concerns are about HiDPI scaling on UltraWide displays.
Right now I'm 100% sure that first option is possible, second and third in 50% sure but I don't know what about fourth and fifth options.
I think my main choice will be first option but second and third looks nice too.
Fourth and fifth would be too small but it would be really nice if they were possible.
I really want to save higher resolution (over 4k) and have nice retina mode on.
New display will be used mainly for programming so high refresh rate is not killer feature but over 60Hz would be nice.
Using full 5k2k resolution wouldn't be possible for me because of too small UI, around 1/3 than my current (2800x1575 on 28 inch).
So can anyone help me with this?
Some one have 5k2k display and can confirm that those resolutions in HiDPI are possible?
Maybe they are possible with some third party app like SwitchResX or BetterDisplay?
Will I still have those resolutions with higher refresh rate (72Hz in LG 40WP95C-W via TB4)?
ps. Maybe someone know about other displays 5k2k with TB4 that are or will be in the market soon?
For now LG 40WP95C-W is my main choice because of resolution and TB4, curved screen and last but not least 72Hz refresh rate.

1 | 3840 | 1620 | 41% | Yes |
2 | 3968 | 1674 | 50.6% | ? |
3 | 4032 | 1701 | 55.5% | ? |
4 | 4096 | 1728 | 60.5% | ? |
5 | 4160 | 1755 | 65.6% | ? |
