This morning I logged in to my laptop and started doing some browsing with Safari. I noticed the fan speed ramp up like crazy which was unusual. I checked Activity Monitor to find a process called "securityd" using something like 50-70% CPU. Normally Activity Monitor reads ~90% idle, but now it was only ~60% idle.

This happened before in the past few days and a restart fixed the problem. This time around I decided to force quit the process which kicked me out of my Google accounts and caused System Preferences to stop working correctly, so I had to restart anyway.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue on 10.10.3? Should I send a bug report?

Just for comparison, this is my Yosemite readings for 'securityd'
My mini is on 27/7, and only the monitor gets to sleep.

That's what it usually is for me since I started checking. I don't know what triggered the spikes. I'll have to keep an eye out.
