Tried to transcode a ATV ripped DVD into a smaller version for ipod for my kids, was taking nearly 24 hours EACH (whereas ripping and initial conversion takes maybe 45min).
So I'm thinking why don't I just encode both a high quality version AND a low quality version when I do the intial encoding from the ripped video_ts directory.
I tried this, and itunes seems to insist on mixing them and updating both to the ATV, which makes the movie list totally cluttered.
Is there something I'm missing on how to keep a separate library of small ipod specific movie encodes? I'd like to be able to put them on my kids ipods for trips when desired, but not see them on the ATV or the normal itunes list and not have a bunch of extra hassle encoding them.
Suggestions?
