Here's my dilemma: I would like to bump up to a Mac Pro sometime in the next year or so. Right now, my primary monitor is still an old SGI FW9011 as after 10 years I'm still waiting for a comparable LCD to be invented (OLED, where are you?) so I can get perfect color accuracy at high refresh rates.
This hasn't been a problem since the Quadros on PowerMacs/Mac Pros and the TITAN on my PC have DVI-I. However, the new Mac Pros no longer have any analog video output, just Thunderbolt, and the Mini-DP to VGA adapters have ridiculously slow pixel clock limits around 165 MHz. I want to be able to hit 383 MHz (2304x1440@80Hz), or need to be able to hit at least 300 MHz (1920x1200@90Hz).
Does any solution exist out there for Mini-DP/Thunderbolt to VGA that has the proper bandwidth?
