High School grad girl sets record for texting... how much is too much?

I can't honestly imagine. I feel when I use 1500, that is a lot. Their math is unrealistic though. Because that would assume that the girl doesn't sleep at all if she does 7 texts a minute straight for one month. 
I STILL can't break the 1000 texts/month barrier. I have 1200, so I've been trying to for the past few months.

Well there's 108,000 minutes in a 30 day month so it wouldn't be 7 per minute... and that includes received texts I imagine, so halve that.. and take into account that she may be sending out mass texts (i.e. the same message to 10 people), and you're down to still one crazy chick... but more believable
Texting is a feature on most cell phones designed to eke out additional fees by cell phone companies by making it so people can be too bloody lazy to use a phone as it was intended, i.e. *talk* to people.
If I had enough time on my hands, I would send 304,000 just to get my 15 minutes of fame

It would be interesting to see how many of those texts were actually valid, in the sense that were more than a few random characters or just LOL, OMG & all that rubbish.
Beyond a few thousand (assuming a large circle of friends) I would say they need to focus on something else in their life as the world is probably passing them by.

This girl must live with her phone connected to the power outlet. There is no way in hell that you can squeeze that many texts out on an iPhone battery. I think that is even more amazing than the number of texts.
I call BS. I'm sorry. I don't care how "popular" you are, there is no way someone who goes to school AND has a full-time job can physically send 303,000 text messages. If she only slept 4 hours a night, never stopped to eat or shower, and basically never did anything else...it comes out to a text message every 7 seconds. I don't care how addicted to texting you are, that's just not happening. Even if it's half sent and half received, she's either sending or reading a message every 7 seconds.

Umm...I don't know what math you are doing, but there are only 43,200 minutes in a 30-day month. That's 7 per minute.
