I was wondering, now that it's confirmed the compatibility between some AMD cards with high sierra (like rx 580, 480 and some vegas amongst others)... Do you think it would work with radeon pro cards, is the architechture similar enough with these workstation gpus?

Hello I have a AMD FirePro w5100 4GB video card that I have been able to get working on a MacPro 5.1

with OSX 10.13 by adding the device id 0x10026649 to the kext of AMD8000Controller.kext and AMDRadeon4000.kext.

The video card works fine in OSX 10.13 and is listed as a AMD Radeon 8xxx video card and displays all the correct info when I compare it to the mfg specs listed.

I made a mistake yesterday creating the post, I'm so sorry. I meant wx5100 instead of just w5100.

I already corrected the title.

But thanks anyway for the response.

Fairly sure I read that WX7100 is working. Sorry, I don't have a link handy - would've been here, eGPU.io, or netkas though.

I"ll go check in netkas. Basically I want more processing power but sometimes the computer stays on all day long so I'm looking for the newest technologgies which are suposed to have a smaller carbon print.

I want to pair it with a L5640 processor which consumes 60w.

Perhaps a quadro p400 would do for that purpose.

Thanks
