I wouldn't recommend it. I believe the drivers for the 2018 Mac system hardware are only available with 10.14 MacOS Mojave and later.

... and I thought it was my fault -- I could't install it, even from an usb-stick.

Another reason for me to hold off buying, until any significant bugs in Mojave are sorted.

Damm. Gonna have to wait until my employer gets a new RAS solution that doesn’t require java then. It could be a long wait.

Thanks for asking the question, although I guess we all kinda knew the answer.

If you need it to just run some program which doesn't work on Mac OS Mojave, you can try virtual machine. Otherwise, you are really out of luck.

will try that. I think a VM using 4cores will be on 16000 - 18000 in geekbench - may be enough to work with. But we have to check it in day to day work.

Yes, virtual machines are the answer to most things however, when Apple force you to do more and more via a Windows VM, you have to ask the question - why don't I just get a Windows Machine?

I am talking about running previous versions of Mac OS, not Windows. If you need Windows, it can run on bare metal, you do not need VM.
