I've had my mac set to sleep my display ever since I got my first iMac - this let me keep my iMac running so my webserver was accessible from elsewhere without keeping the screen illuminated when it wasn't being actively used in person.
Normally I had the lower right and left hot corners set to "put display to sleep" but since the advent of High Sierra the screen would blank for 15-20 seconds, then light up again.
I was not certain why it was doing this and was setting the screen to dimmest illumination when sleeping or working elsewhere.
I found only one workaround: select "go to blank screen" under "screen saver options".
Has anyone else experienced this? My machine is a 4 ghz i7 iMac 5k with a Radeon 290x video card.
