Looking at,

It would appear that unless you are over 18 then possibly not. Try calling Apple and ask them if they will give you a discount. I seem to recall someone mentioning that Further Education customers get a discount, but it is less than the 15% that Higher Education customers get.

you can use the apple store for educaton discount

I doubt you can use the 'higher education' discount seeing as you're not in higher education. Try and access the store from your school's network and see if you can get it, if you can then buy...

Chex is right, you are not higher eduction (degrees, masters, phd etc), you are further education. You still get a discount, although it's not as large as the HE discount (which is almost like not paying VAT). Here's the store for FE education:

You can find out prices there, but take my advice and phone your order through. I got AppleCare for £50 instead of the £200 they charge online.

When I see the prices through Georgia Tech's network (they also sent me a pamphlet in the mail yesterday with laptop recommendations), they only take 100 dollars off the macbook and 200 dollars off the macbook pro.

200 bucks off of 2500 is less than 10% discount...I'm sure you could have done the math yourself but wanted to state my slight confusion.

Education discount + an ipod would be nice...too bad I offered to give the free ipod to my gf...

I'll try to give her my nano instead because she has no use for a video ipod.
