So I'm wondering, as I've ran my movies for the iPhone through handbrake from the Original™ DVD's and I keep them at the same resolution.

I keep hearing people saying they can watch a movie and keep like 3/4s of their battery...

Mine goes REALLY fast when watching my movies. Like, from a little over 3/4 charged to getting the 15% warning in just under a two hour movie.

Do you think it's possible that playing these larger resolution files would drain the battery faster? Or is video decoding pretty standard as far as battery power used?

Sorry, not QUITE nerdy enough to know that one... It seems like logically it would have an effect since it's got to scale the movie and there is a higher data processing rate, but I'm not quite sure still.

Any ubers care to take me to task and give me a little learnin'?

Thanks,
Technocoy

give us the specs of the moive that ur playing. i.e the bitrate and what not. sure i spose that the higher bit rate would cauz the cpu to work more thus draining the battery more. maybe you could do a test for us :)
rip 2 dvds in different formats/codecs and see what happens. im sure there will be adifference.

enuf blab from me
