Guys, i have one of these cards installed and a few external drives connected to them, Everytime I wake my Pro i have disk ejected improperly notices, and not just one but several. Mostly because of my time machine drive is connected and it gets disconnected.

What is causing this? is it a driver issue or what? I didn't install the cards drivers and now wondering if I should have.

thanks

its a brand new enclosure and I don't have a problem when its connected to a different USB port on my mac

Your HP RocketU is fine. Usually, sleep is not supported in USB 3.0 cards so ext HDs get disconnected during sleep. I am using 4 brands of USB 3, Caldigit, Inatek, Highpoint RocketU and NewerTech and my ext HDs get disconnected in sleep. With NewerTech it's different. The card prevents the Mac Pro to go to sleep so the ext HD is still connected.

The sleep issue was mentioned here https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/what-is-the-state-of-usb-3-0-on-mac-pro.1501482/
