How do I get rid of the Books/Reading list/History “splitscreen” effect in Safari when X in landscape?

In between eye surgeries so much easier to read macrumors in landscape BUT suddenly History takes up left half the screen in landscape.

Press the icon in the top left corner that looks like a open book.

Are you pressing the book within the splitscreen window or the book up in the menu/address bar?

Thank you! The menu/address bar was not even showing on my landscape mode til u focussed my attention.

it appeared after numerous down swipes and even then seemed simply appeared to my limited eyesight as solid blue/unidentifiable icon.

Thank you for clarifying! Looking forward to second new eye/lens this week to again balance the view!
