Kind of nifty. Yes expensive, but doing apparently machined aluminum isn't cheap. I have some similar aluminum under monitor drawer units that were expensive, but I really like and appreciate having under my Apple monitors. Most desk accessories are throwbacks to the 80's, it's nice having some sleek ones.

The mistake (to my mind) is the stupid cutout on the side for the Mac Pro to nestle in to. Kind of silly, it encourages you to have a particular set up. They probably just put it in so they could say its "made for the Mac Pro".

So not interested, but I am curious about their desktop 19" rack. I've been looking for a small good looking rack appropriate for the desk side, that might work.

I think you are right about the cutout.

Also this from the review:
"I wish they'd put the rubberized material on both the top and bottom. On a hard surface, the aluminum can slide a little bit, so either another sheet of that material or some screw-in rubber feet would be great."

Wouldn't want the rack sliding into the Mac Pro.
