I have a new set of Soundsticks scheduled to arrive in a few hours. I had a pair of JBL Creatures and I had to put the sub on the floor to get good sound.

However, if you are using iTunes, you might want to check the equalizer, it's very powerful, and should let you turn the bass down from there.

With the Jupiter song being free this week, and having a couple of free songs still on my account, I picked up the Holst planet suite for free to test out my new speakers. I'm so excited!

I've got the original soundsticks (have had them for a few years now), and I was alarmed at the amount of bass they had. Although this was probably due to one of my old external speakeres not working at all and the other having no bass.

You'll get used to it - I did :) Now, the internal speakers on my new PowerBook (which I use when I haven't got the HK's plugged in) sound awfully tinny and lacking in bass.
