Folks I'm wondering...

Is it at all possible to resell a AppleCare product? I had one laying about in my room for over a years. It's completely disused, meant to be for the now discontinued Apple Displays. Other people tell me they need the receipt in-order to activate.

What's the deal with that?
I ain't purchased a new apple product in years, so i'm outta the loop.

Can someone shed some light? Mucho appreciated. :)

Reportedly, Apple changed their policy few months ago and they now require a proof of purchase when activating the code. I would actually contact Apple and ask how this could be dealt.

Well.. Here's my dilemma.

I have the till roll receipt though it's slightly faded, still visible is my card details.. Now I don't really want to be passing to someone I barely know, or ever met...

Needs receipt to activate if you got an old code.

You can tell buyers to contact you if Apple contacts them. And you promise buyer to fax / mail the receipt to Apple directly.
