Any place but here or there....
Hi Guys,

my refurb 20" iMac is not working. The machine boots up to the blue screen (the screen prior to the desktop) but never gets past that.

I'm not sure if the problem is OS or Hard Drive corruption: I did a full erase expecting to junk this refurb via Apple's recycle for an Apple gift card program.

I subsequently reinstalled the OS (10.6 for this early 2009 iMac) and I think an important bit of code from Terminal was deleted when I ran Disk Ultility (I remember the string being something like Library/CodeServiced...)...

Well I've tried PRAM and even installed the Applications Install disc into the optical drive (which won't work now)...

So without the extended warranty can this be restored to where I can get my information off the hard drive? I reinstalled all my apps etc. and want to be able to deactivate my itunes account for this machine.

Thanks in advance...
