Hold it!! Just bought a new imac24"

Howdy Folks,

First visit first question:

Sunday I bought from Apple a jazzed up iMac 24", 3.06gHz.

Right after that I jump on the forums and all I read is the impending new release of the next version of the iMac.

I spoke with an Apple rep. and he indicated that given my delivery date I would be sent the iMac upgrade. I can also return the iMac up to t he ship date.

So...Should I cancel that order and wait for the iMac upgrade??

I highly doubt that is a 100% sure thing.
He ordered the current gen, there is a chance that's what he'll get.
And it's even likely Apple will ship it before releasing the new models.

Thanks. I guess that is the issue. Given my ship date of 3/7-3/19 the gent indicated to hold off most likely get shipped the new version.


Or I play it safe and cancel the order. The gent also said I can cancel right up to the ship date. Unless it ships earlier.

Have you paid for the iMac and have funds cleared your account?

If so, then I wouldn't expect you'd automatically get the newest model should they launch between the time you placed your order and the stated shipping date.

The prices are pretty certain to change, and I don't necessarily mean a price increase.

Dude, cancel if the option is still there. It's not 100% certain you would get the new iMac. Plus, if they haven't withdrawn your funds, there is no reason not to cancel.

That situation is a little different. when the aluminum macbooks came out, the X3100 white macbook was still current. the white nvidia macbooks didn't get released until later.
