I've had my iPhone 7 on iOS 13 for a while. I just got a new iPhone 13 Pro, and while I dislike how heavy it is, I was hoping I would at least appreciate the increased screen real estate. To my dismay, apple have managed to make software changes that in some cases accomplish the exact opposite!?
Most irksome, they've made some incomprehensible UI changes to the home app as well as its notification center shortcuts. Now my various lighting setups are stored in a horizontally scrolling list, meaning I have to scroll sideways every single time I want to access certain lighting setups.
Not only that, these buttons are designed extra wide despite all the real estate on the phones being vertical, so you're scrolling a list that is basically optimized to show you the LEAST information possible. Meanwhile my old 7 with its smaller screen will easily show me everything I want at a glance.
And yes I far prefer having access to meaningful lighting setups than a giant list of individual bulbs. when I want to turn on the kitchen lights, I want to turn them all on, not each individual bulb in a fixture.
Every extra step and UI obfuscation they add to adjusting your connected accessories really kinda erodes the usefulness of a smart home in the first place.
